Pregnancy symptoms you might not know - Peppertray

Motherhood is a wonderful journey where a mother gain long life gift for temporary loss. The journey of motherhood  starts in mother's womb. It starts with one month and ends in 9 months. Doctors  calculate this journey in weeks. What the pregnancy symptoms are? Do you have any of the symptoms?

During the first week of pregnancy can we know the symptoms? Yes, usually a period missing will be the main symptom for confirming your pregnancy. Doctors will calculate the due date of delivery starting with the date of your last period.  Your last menstruation cycle is calculated as the first week of pregnancy. Although not confirmed yet completely. You can experience pregnancy symptoms before even the period is missing. During this first week of pregnancy, one can experience the following symptoms

Implantation Bleeding

During first week to fourth week you might experience implantation bleeding. It is the light bleeding and resembles by mistake for periods. This happens when the fertilised egg holds the uterus wall after 10 to 15 days of fertilisation. Colors of the bleeding might vary as brown, pink and red. For some women it might cause pain along with bleeding. These cramps resembles menstrual cramps. Nearly twenty percent of the women experience spotting due to pregnancy. It does not require any treatment and it will last up to 3 days.

Period missing

After the completion of implantation phase, your body starts to produce HCG hormone. It is the most vital hormone to maintain your pregnancy. After four weeks of conception, this hormone tells not to release the eggs anymore on monthly basis. And you can carry on with a pregnancy test 
and the test will reveal the results accurately as soon as 8 days after a missed period. Anyone having menstrual problems can consult a doctor. 


During week 4 to 5, as the progesterone will soar, you will feel highly sleepy. This is the most common symptom during the phase of pregnancy. Good sleep is vital during this phase. Your body temperature might become higher. Try to stay in cool place where temperature is low. Drinking more water and exercising helps in keeping your temperature levels balanced.

Swollen breasts

During week 4 to 6 breasts remain tender and swollen. And breasts start tingling due to hormonal changes in the body. When the body adjusts to it, they will stay normal. Also later in week 11, the breasts grows fuller in size and areola part changes its color and becomes dark and bigger in size. So make sure to wear comfortable wear that gives space to avoid breast pain. Specifically purchase maternity wear. 

Change in moods

This symptom is quite common during pregnancy as the estrogen and progesterone levels are high during this pregnancy. As the estrogen and progesterone levels vary, there might be several variation in the moods. Either you might experience depression, anxiety, irritability. Keeping your mind calm is vital in this phase. Reading good books, listening music refreshes your mind and relieves stress. Crying a lot for little things might make you worry, but still it is quite common in pregnancy. 

Urinating frequently and incontinence

Frequentt urination is usually caused due to the high levels of blood pump during pregnancy. The blood is pumped high in levels when compared to the normal phase. Due to this, the kidneys starts producing more urine. Make sure to drink lots of water. Frequent urination might occur in between of week 4 to 6. You might observe more bathroom trips and leakage also. Hormonal changes are also the one vital reason behind the incontinence. Just make sure to maintain drinking at least 300 ml of water. Schedule your bathroom trips daily. 

Constipation and Bloating

Due to hormonal changes in the body, the digestive systems slows down the activity. It results in bloating and constipation. The foods that you might take during this stage are crucial. If you are really planning for a pregnancy and was experiencing some of the symptoms, then make sure you take 
the right diet that is easy to digest. Only take good foods that digest. Avoid drinking drinks induced with gas and alcohol. As this can worsen these problems.

Nausea or vomiting

There is no particular reason behind why nausea or morning sickness occurs. But again hormones play a major role. Morning sickness occurs in most part of the first trimester and might end when the second trimester begins. You might notice to feel vomiting and the food cravings go really low. After second trimester you might have chance to feel relief and food cravings gradually improve. Drinking and eating salty foods might reduce the morning sickness. Many women experience it in a day. Keep hydrated by drinking lots of water. Stay in touch with your doctor and intimate them if you have any problem taking fluids or food. 


You can experience dizziness due to high or low blood pressure levels. Your doctor will check your blood pressure levels whenever you are asked to take a checkup. They remain normal before pregnancy, but during this phase, their levels can rise due to hormones.  So take a good diet that keeps blood levels normal. Go for exercises where pregnant ladies are trained specifically. A really good diet with regular water intake and exercise can keep your blood levels maintained. Discuss with your doctor if you have complication.

Weight Gain

A women can gain anywhere between 1 to 4 pounds during pregnancy early stages. As it enters to later trimesters, the amniotic fluid improves, placenta size and breast size increases. Blood and fluid volume also improves. Uterus size grows along with fat in the body. Overall,, by the end of the last trimester, the woman body develops in a way to give the child birth. 

Smell sensitivity

Smell sensitivity can cause losing taste specifically for some foods. If the person smells that food, it causes vomiting or nausea. These are food aversions and might appear in first trimester. They reduce gradually entering into the second trimester. This is the main reason to trigger nausea. It occurs only during pregnancy phase and does not appear after this phase. Losing taste and triggering vomiting particularly for some foods happens.


Headaches can also appear during the early phase of pregnancy. Although it is mild, it is caused due to high levels of blood circulation. Never use any type of medication regarding any type of problem. Unless your doctor suggests you to do so. Try to keep away your self from stress and keep active with all kinds of exercise. 


During the early stages of pregnancy as the stomach acid leaks and this leakage can cause burning sensation in heart. Take care not to eat heavy meals at once and try to add the meals in small quantities. Burning sensation worsens according to the foods you consume. Don't eat foods that are fried and junk foods and foods that contain citric acid as this can rise the problem even more. Eat less spicy foods and foods that are easy to digest. Not only eating good diet, but also eating them on time makes your stomach lessens burning sensation. 

The other person can spot glow on your face as this is also quite common. This is caused as the body pumps blood in high levels. It will activate all the glands and activates the oil glands too. As a result, it will give huge glow on your face. Moreover it has high chance of acne. The symptoms you experience the first trimester may not appear during the second trimester.

These are the above symptoms some women can experience. But without these symptoms, directly one can experience a period loss.  If you are expecting to conceive, you can track these symptoms too. After missing a period, you can take pregnancy test. And if the test comes positive, consult your doctor immediately for further checkup and medication. As being a mother is a god's precious gift, the mother will definitely forgive and forget the pain during this phase and welcomes the new life onto the earth.

Make sure to go to checkup for your doctor after getting confirmation. Never eat some foods as suggested by your doctors. Eat lot of fruits and vegetables. Drink lot of water. Water will reduce lots of toxins in your body, reduces heat produced in the body. It avoids fibroids that are caused due to urinary infections. Stay hydrated at any cost. Stop eating foods from outside and junk foods. Eating outside food is not hygienic and the oil they use might not be fresh. So eat only quality and fresh food. Have a happy pregnancy.

Hello Curtis, thankyou for stopping by here.. yes..although many of us have the above symptoms, yet it is not known that we are pregnant.The same thing happened with me also.Despite of crossing that whole journey we are wondeful mothers now. I really appreciate motherhood for such a great sacrifice. Being a woman and being a mother changes our way of thinking. Care starts from careless.
